Ali Marc Ira Lippke 0585

Every so often, I fall in love with a client from starting with their first email. Ali was one of those brides. She contacted me and asked if I was available for her wedding which happened to fall during New York Fashion Week, when I usually don’t do weddings, but I could already tell she was going to be incredibly lovely to work with, so I agreed to work with her, and I’m so glad I did, because she was one of the loveliest clients I’ve ever worked with, not to mention one of the most stunning!

From getting her ready at her parents beautiful house in a room with the best lighting *ever*, to all of her sweet bridesmaids, and her mom with the most fabulous dress ever, it was truly a dream wedding to work on. I hope that I have the chance to work with Ali again in the future!

Ayelet’s Wedding- Last Minute!

No Comments Beauty, Wedding

Sometimes in life things just work out exactly the way they’re supposed to. A great example is how I came to be involved with Ayelet’s wedding this October, even though it was completely last minute!

I had just arrived home from a short job in the city and was getting ready to run some errands, when I got a text from one of my favorite hairstylists ever, Stacy Pitt from Styles on B who I’ve worked with on many weddings.   She said she was working on a wedding in Carroll Gardens and the makeup artist was a no-show due to a minor car accident and could I be there in 15 minutes?? Luckily I didn’t have anymore clients that day, my kit was ready to go and I was only 3 subway stops away so I hopped on the subway and got there as quickly as I could.

I was welcomed warmly and enthusiastically and I got to work as quickly as I could on the beautiful bride, Ayelet and her sister.  Everyone was so kind and excited for Ayelet and I was so happy that I was able to be there with all of these lovely people celebrating such an important day.  After I was done with the makeup and Ayelet had taken a look at it in the mirror, she was so happy with it she asked if she could give me a hug!  This is the kind of moment that makes everything worth it as a makeup artist; I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so appreciated!

In addition to working with Ayelet and her lovely family, the photographer, Tatiana Breslow, was an absolute dream to work with as well and sent me these truly stunning pictures of the wedding a week or two later.  She truly captured the love during that day and I was tearing up when I was looking at the photos.  I was so happy the timing worked out perfectly to allow me to be a part of this wonderful wedding!

New York Weddings Magazine Coverage

No Comments Wedding

I was excited to receive an email from my client, Katherine Milgram, today telling me that her wedding had been covered in the New York Magazine Weddings issue! I did her and her mother’s makeup for her intimate weddings last November.  We met when she was a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding earlier last year and she fell in love with the silvery smoky eye I did for her that day.  We did a softer, smokier eye for her wedding day, and she looked just stunning.  I look forward to posting more pictures of her and her mother when I get them.  They were both such a pleasure to work with and I’m so happy to  have been a part of this team that made this lovely wedding possible!

Lindsay & Matt- Town Hall & Frankie’s

No Comments Wedding

I had the most wonderful time this past July working with bride Lindsay for her combination wedding.  She did a City Hall wedding with her fiancé Matt on Friday afternoon, just the two of them, then Saturday afternoon she had a ceremony and dinner at Frankie’s 457 in Brooklyn that included all her family and friends.  Lindsay was just a joy to work with from the start.  I loved that she had chosen to wear two different vintage dresses, one for each day, because I love any and everything vintage!  Although she hesitated to get individual false lashes in the end she was very happy with them, and they were so natural looking even her mom couldn’t tell they were false!  Her look was beautiful and fresh and flawless and she was a radiant bride.

I wish Lindsay and Matt all the best in their future together!
